In an attempt to matriculate a diverse class of students, we do give additional consideration to applicants who identify as males, first-generation college students, underrepresented minorities, LGBTQIA+, military veterans or reservists. Candidates are evaluated for the following factors: overall GPA, science GPA, prerequisite GPA, academic load, timing of prerequisites, direct patient care experience, PA shadowing, community service involvement, leadership activities, quality of narratives, letters of reference, performance on the Casper and Snapshot Physician Assistant assessments, evidence of professional memberships and history of scholarly (published) activity. The program does not accept transfer credits, advanced placement in the program, applications for challenge examinations or credits for experiential learning.Īdmission to the program is highly competitive. The physician assistant program is a full-time program there is no part-time status. The program seeks students who possess intellectual capacity, personal maturity, communication and interpersonal skills. We are committed to admitting a diverse group of qualified individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and select students who reflect varied social, economic, ethnic, educational and health care experience backgrounds. We recognize that all members of society deserve the best healthcare possible and this is most effectively provided by a diverse healthcare team.
